The IBSF Executive and the Qatar Billiard Sports Federation (QBSF) are excited to announce the updated format for the 2024 IBSF World Snooker Championships, which will feature Men’s, Women’s, and Masters events. This year, the Men’s World Snooker Championship will be organized in two stages:
Stage 1 – Qualifying Round:
- Participants: Up to 64 players per event.
- Entry: Each country can enter up to two players directly through the IBSF entry system. Additionally, each country may nominate two reserve players via email to the organizers and the IBSF.
- Format: The qualifying events will be knockout tournaments, completed over two days.
- Matches: All matches will be Best of 7 frames until the Last 8 stage.
- Qualification: The top 16 players (8 from each qualifying event) will advance to Stage 2. Players who do not qualify in the first event are eligible to compete in the second event.
- Entry Fee: US$ 150 for each qualifying event. Players who advance to the main event will not be required to pay the entry fee for Stage 2.
Stage 2 – Main Event for Men:
- Participants: 48 players, selected based on eligibility criteria.
- Invitation: Invitations will be sent directly to eligible players, countries, and regions. If any of the top-ranked players are unavailable or qualify through multiple criteria, players ranked lower will be considered for selection.

Women & Masters Championships
Each country is allowed to send 4 players for Women and 2 players for the Masters Championship. Please enter your players’ names & details into the IBSF website using your username and password.
Additional entries can also be sent to the IBSF Secretary in order.
The closing date for entries is 22nd September 2024.
Match Format:
- Men’s Matches:
- Group Stage and Last 8: Best of Seven frames.
- Semi-finals and Final: Best of Nine frames.
- Masters Matches:
- Group Stage and Last 8: Best of Five frames.
- Semi-finals and Final: Best of Seven frames.
- Women’s Matches:
- Round-Robin Stage: Best of Three frames.
- Knockout Rounds through to Final: Best of Five frames.
Entry Fee:
- Amount: US$ 150.00 per player for Men, Women, and Masters.
- Payment: The entry fee must be paid to the IBSF Treasurer before the Championships commence.
Countries that have not settled their IBSF annual membership fees for 2024 or have outstanding balances will be unable to use the online system for player registration. To activate the system, these countries must either complete the payment transfer and provide a copy of the transfer receipt or submit an official letter confirming that the outstanding amount will be paid in cash before the competition begins.

- Matches start: Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, at 10:00 am.
- Final: Wednesday, November 6th, 2024.
- Masters Event:
- Matches start: Monday, November 4th, 2024, at 10:00 am.
- Final: Saturday, November 9th, 2024.
- Women’s Event:
- Matches start: Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, at 10:00 am.
- Final: Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

- Date and Time: Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at 10:00 am at the hotel.
